The turnover requirement is the price tag on a bonus. Everything else in an offer is presentation; this is the number that determines whether the offer is worth anything at all. The mechanism is simple enough to explain in a paragraph and consequential enough to deserve a page, so this one does the arithmetic explicitly rather than describing it in the abstract.
What the multiplier means
A requirement of thirty times means the relevant amount must be staked thirty times over before the balance can be withdrawn. The critical word is relevant: some operators apply the multiplier to the bonus alone, others to the deposit and the bonus together, and the difference doubles the obligation without changing the advertised number at all.
Take a deposit of 500 kr. with a matching bonus of 500 kr. At thirty times the bonus, the requirement is 15.000 kr. of stakes. At thirty times deposit plus bonus, it becomes 30.000 kr. Same headline, twice the work. This single distinction is the most common reason a bonus that looked generous turns out not to be, and it is always stated in the terms.

Weighting: the second multiplier nobody mentions
Not every stake counts equally. Slots typically contribute one hundred percent of their value towards the requirement, while roulette, blackjack and other table games often contribute ten percent or nothing. The reason is commercial rather than arbitrary: the house edge on table games is narrower, so the same money staked is worth less to the operator.
The practical consequence is severe for anyone who prefers live tables. A 30.000 kr. requirement met through blackjack at ten percent weighting becomes 300.000 kr. of actual stakes, which is not a realistic target for a recreational player. If tables are your game, the weighting table decides whether an offer is usable at all — check it before the percentage, not after.
The clause that voids bonuses
Most forfeited bonuses are not lost to the deadline but to the maximum stake rule. While bonus funds are active, a cap applies to each individual bet, and exceeding it even once can cancel the bonus together with everything won from it. The cap is often modest, and it is easy to breach after a couple of hours when bet sizes have crept upwards. Deciding a stake size at the start of the session and staying under it is the whole defence.
Two smaller rules complete the picture. Yes. Turnover counts the amount staked, not the outcome, so a losing spin and a winning spin of the same size contribute identically. This is why the requirement can be completed with a balance that goes up and down all evening, and why the number to watch is total stakes rather than profit.
Why does roulette count less than slots?
Because the house edge on table games is thinner, so an equal amount staked earns the operator less. Weighting compensates for that. Slots usually count in full, roulette and blackjack often at ten percent or not at all, and live tables vary by provider. A player who prefers tables should read the weighting table before accepting any offer at all.
What is the maximum bet rule?
A cap on the size of a single stake while bonus funds are in play, and the clause most often broken by accident. Exceeding it once can void the bonus along with everything won from it, regardless of how much turnover has already been completed. Setting a bet size comfortably under the cap at the start of the session is the only reliable protection.
